Gas Processing Facility - Production Stabilisation and Recovery

Project Overview

The Gas Processing Facility project improved gas treatment, liquids recovery, dehydration reliability, and operating discipline at a strategic production hub. ODS Oil and Gas LLP contributed process engineering review, commissioning planning, start-up support, and operations readiness.

The facility had to balance throughput, product specification, reliability, and environmental performance. ODS helped the client define realistic operating envelopes and acceptance tests before introducing new equipment into service.

Scope of Work

ODS supported engineering close-out, process safety readiness, commissioning sequencing, operator training, and post-start-up performance monitoring across the processing units.

Technical Execution

The execution plan was organised into controlled workstreams so engineering, HSE, procurement, commissioning, and operations readiness moved together instead of becoming disconnected site activities.

  • Reviewed process flow diagrams, control narratives, relief philosophy, and operating envelopes
  • Prepared commissioning checklists for dehydration, separation, compression, NGL recovery, and utilities
  • Supported HAZOP close-out, safety-critical element verification, and permit-to-work readiness
  • Monitored start-up stability, product specification, recycle streams, and equipment performance trends
  • Developed post-start-up optimisation actions for energy use, flaring reduction, and maintenance planning

Client Partnership

ODS coordinated with operations, process engineering, maintenance, HSE, and vendor specialists. The project team used disciplined readiness reviews so that start-up decisions were based on verified field conditions rather than schedule pressure alone.

Project Results

The facility achieved stable operations after start-up, stronger product quality control, and improved maintenance visibility. The client received a practical operating framework for sustained throughput, lower process upsets, and clearer emissions management.
